A nuc (or nucleus colony) is a functioning and thriving colony of bees with a mated, marked queen and five deep frames (wood and/or plastic) with varying stages of brood, as well as honey and pollen stores. Available in late May 2024, weather permitting - PICKUP ONLY.
Our nucs are made with local, survivor stock, and will contain a marked 2024 queen (green dot). These bees are raised by us, and NOT imported from other parts of the country- they are acclimated to our climate and environment, and have proven desirable traits. We get excellent feedback on the gentleness, workability, and productivity of our bees.
Our bees are inspected yearly by the NJ Department of Agriculture, and we are certified to sell nucs and queens.
The bees come in a plastic corrugated jester nuc box.
We will notify you with status updates and anticipated pickup dates as soon as we see what the spring weather brings.
