Beeswax has been used for thousands of years, dating back to ancient Egyptian, Greek, Rome, and traditional Chinese medicine. It creates a barrier on the skin to lock moisture in, without clogging pores. Beeswax provides antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties, and beta-carotene (vitamin A) to skin, making it restorative to bruises, burns, and cracked skin, as well as atopic-dermatitis and psoriasis.
Jojoba oil, technically a liquid wax rather than a true oil, is one of the most beneficial oils in the cosmetic industry. Medicinal use dates back to the Native Americans. Jojoba oil resembles human sebum in composition, allowing it to moisturize without clogging pores or feeling greasy. It is emollient (skin softening), antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and naturally contains vitamins A & D. It soothes and combats skin conditions like acne and psoriasis.
Lavender essential oil is relaxing and comforting to the senses, but also soothing to skin irritation, redness, and inflammation.
